Katy Perry calls Russell Brand a bridezilla

Pop princess Katy Perry - who got gunged at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards – has called fiancé Russell Brand a bridezilla.

She told MTV on the orange carpet at the Kids Choice Awards: ‘Well, I have to plan my [new album, due this summer] first and then I'm going to get to my wedding,’

‘But I'm really excited about that, too.’

The singer also added: ‘He's a total bridezilla. He's like a freak, man,’

‘You should see — he's always, like, buying bride magazines. Every time we go out for breakfast he's like, 'Can we just stop and get a bride magazine?'

Earlier this year, the happy couple – who got engaged in December - spoke to MTV News about their engagement and comically dispelled pregnancy rumours.

Overwhelmed by the prospect of marrying the English funnyman, she said: ‘Enough! It's not about the ring,’

Adding that living with Brand is wacky: ‘Right, hello! My crazy-ass life! What am I doing? Whenever I freak out, I go, 'This is what I wanted!' she said.

In other news, Katy Perry was one of few stars who attended Perez Hilton’s 32nd birthday party over the weekend.

The circus themed bash was held at the Paramount Studios in L.A, where Katy Perry sang happy birthday as she rode in on an elephant.

He also disappeared to use his mobile phone in private. After an aggravated phone call, he openly moaned about his relationship with the famous socialite.

On Saturday, the sports star told photographers that he did not know where Kim was. Then when asked if they were still an item, he replied 'no more questions'.

The two are said to have agreed to keep details surrounding the split private.

Robert Pattinson: 'I look like a transvestite'

British actor Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga, said that having his eyebrows plucked for the role made him feel like a transvestite.

In an interview with The Times, he said: 'You get to the point where you think, ‘Okay, I look like a transvestite now’

She told Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning: 'Well because our family couldn’t be there, and the reason we got married in Vegas was because Alex proposed to me after his first fight - my first fight of seeing him - in September and we tried to get married at Christmas.’

'And the only place we could get married was Vegas because you have to be divorced a certain amount of time to get married here, abroad, anywhere… so Vegas was the only place to go.

'We are doing like a blessing in the summer because we want all out family there. His mum would like to see her son get married and my mum would like to see it again so…yeah, we can’t wait.'

She also said that her second marriage will be a lot more private than her first ceremony to Peter Andre in 2005: 'We are both going to decide together and get his families involved, his mum, my mum, we’re all going to do it as a family thing - how really it should be done, not how other people tell you to do it. We’re not going to have a wedding planner; we’re literally going to do it ourselves.'

The glamour model also confirmed reports that they’re trying for baby, as well looking for a house together: 'His fighter name is Reidinator, so you know when you say pregnated (sic) so like I’ve been Reidinated!... So we are trying for a baby. I can’t wait. Yeah, I can’t wait.'

Following controversy over photographs of her 2-year-old daughter Princess Tiaamii wearing fake eyelashes and lip gloss earlier this year, she also confirmed rumours she was launching a make-up range for children.

Heidi Montag in first film role

Meanwhile, her husband Spencer Pratt has been put on an anger management course following a violent outburst on The Hills set.

The 26-year-old ‘flipped out’ on set after a female producer made a request to which he objected.

'He got so crazy that he screamed at [her], 'I should kill you for even asking me to do that!’ a source told US Weekly. Though it is not clear what the request was for.

'The show agreed that Spencer would leave The Hills for six weeks to do anger management training once a week at home. If he completes it, he can return to the show.'

The news comes just days after his wife announced that she had sacked her husband as her management.

Kate Winslet splits from husband

Kate Winslet and her husband Sam Mendes are to separate after nearly seven years of marriage.

Their relationship is said to have hit the rocks after the filming of Revolutionary Road - a film about an ordinary suburban couple who break up - in which Sam Mendes directed his wife and her co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.

The couple share an estimated £30million joint fortune and have two children together.

‘The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement,' said a source to the Daily Mail. 'Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children.'

A statement confirming that the couple had parted earlier on in the year was issued after the actress flew to Mexico with the children while her husband was staying with friends in New England.

During the making of Revolutionary Road, the Oscar-winning actress said she felt awkward being directed by her husband - especially during sex scenes with her former Titanic co-star.

She said last year 'I just kept saying, ‘This is too weird’. Leo told me to get over it, but I said, ‘You're my best friend and he's my husband. This is definitely a bit weird’.'

She added in an interview 'Going into it, I did have several moments where I would say, ‘Oh my God, what if we have a row 'What will we do?' And Sam would say, ‘Oh, don't be silly, of course we won't.' And I was thinking, ‘Oh, well, I'm sure we won't - I hope we don't’.'

Injured David Beckham to miss World Cup

David Beckham will miss playing in a fourth World Cup after tearing his left Achilles tendon during AC Milan’s 1-0 win over Chievo.

The 34-year-old was carried away on a stretcher and will today fly to Finland for specialist surgery.

‘We have to wait for the results of the scan but it looks like he is out of the World Cup,’ said Fabio Capello in a statement.

‘I spoke with him after the game on Sunday night to offer my support, as did Franco Baldini.

‘David is a great professional and has worked very hard to be ready for the World Cup, so missing it will be a big blow.’

The midfielder will almost certainly not be fit for the tournament, which starts in South Africa on 11 June.

‘It's such a serious injury, he'd have been better off to have broken a bone’ said Ellie Steele, a sports therapist.

The footballer suffered a similar injury in 2006, during England’s World Cup quarter-final defeat by Portugal. But he recovered in time to play for Real Madrid in their first game of the Spanish season eight weeks later.

However, this time the injury is much more serious said Dr Orava, who gave a bleak outlook of hopes him returning in time for the World Cup.

‘To start kicking and playing football will take about three months,’ he stated.

‘For maximal performances and maximum kicks and jumps, maybe it takes one month more, three to four months before one is able to do light playing.

‘We will have to see whether the tendon is completely severed, partly severed, or something in between. His recovery will depend on what kind of an injury this is, but it will likely take several months before it is completely healed.’

The former Manchester United star was bidding to become the first England player to feature in four successive World Cup finals.

‘Capello's not stupid, he knew there was a role for Beckham within the squad and this is a massive blow.’ former England defender Martin Keown told BBC Radio 5 live.

‘He's going to be out for six months, he needs to now look at rescuing his career and what's left of it.’

‘He'll be extremely upset, without doubt. I think tonight is a very sad day for the Beckham family.’

Take That singer Mark Owen has today admitted to cheating on his wife with at least ten different women, blaming alcohol for his infidelity.

The singer said he was ‘deeply sorry’ for the pain he had caused his wife Emma, whom he married in a Scottish castle in October last year.

They have two children, Elwood and Willow Rose, and have been together for more than five years.

One affair was with account manager Neva Hanley, whom he started seeing around the same time he began dating Emma, he revealed in a tell-all confession to The Sun.

Other indiscretions were alcohol-fuelled one-night stands that took place while he was on tour with the band.

'I don't know how many girls there were in all. Maybe ten,' he told the newspaper.

He also said that his Take That band mates were unaware of his ongoing affair with Neva Hanley, but did not say if they knew of his many one-night stands on tour.

'I'm so deeply sorry for the pain my actions have caused my family and friends.’ He said in a statement released today.

'I'd like to ask the media to please respect the privacy of my wife and children during this difficult time.'

'I denied to her [Emma] I was having an affair when things were going on. I want to do the right thing now for the kids and Emma. She is absolutely without a doubt the only person I want to be with for the rest of my life.'

Tickets for her May and June UK gigs cost £50 to £75, yet tickets to her recent Monster Ball shows cost between £27.50 and £35.

Concert promoter Live Nation says that the tour has been upgraded to a ‘first-rate arena production’ and defended the ‘fair and comparable’ prices.

The 22-year-old is said to have lost £2million staging a recent US tour and paid £52,000 for a giant bathtub for her X Factor spot last December, reports The Sun. The newspaper also quotes her as saying ‘I've gone bankrupt about four times. My manager wants to shoot me.’

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Interscope Records has told MTV that the singer is planning to release her Monster Ball tour to DVD in 3D.

‘There are talks about a 3D concert and DVD in the near future,’ said the spokesperson, but without revealing any visual details.

The Daily Mail has learned that Cheryl Cole has agreed to attend counselling sessions with her husband, despite originally telling friends she was intent on divorcing the Chelsea footballer.

A source close to the couple last night told the Daily Mail 'She thinks he deserves to be heard and understands how he could think that she let him down as a wife.' Who claims the 26-year-old has started to believe she is also to blame for the breakdown of their marriage.

Their first counselling session will take place next week, after the footballer returns from France where he is being treated for a broken ankle.
